  1. Hi Ken,
Watched your at NG over the years and your work with Todd Graves at GGA as well. You are a great teacher. I wish I lived in Florida. (Wisconsin boy).

My question is the following, I need a new driver, I have been to the stores, hit all the brand name mfg clubs in the cages and on the range. I can not find one that I am comfortable with. As a result does it make sense to find a local club builder who knows what there doing and work with him to build me a driver from the ground up even though they may not have complete understanding of the single plan swing? I am at a loss where to go to find someone to help me get the correct set up for the driver that will work with the single plan swing. Todd Graves has always said you need a specific set up for the Single plan swing on the club, what do you think? Or will anything do from the local golf smith store?

    Please help
    thanks
    Mark

    • Thanks for the Kudos Mark! While the Single Plane swing begins with a definitive setup position (see this link:https://www.kenmartingolf.com/instruction/single-plane-swing/single-plane-setup-fundamentals/) it is the launch angle and spin rate that determines the best driver for you. If the numbers are good on the monitors used at your local club dealer then you simply need to test the driver in the real world (playing) to see if you get the flight and roll-out desired. Check the store’s policy for “playing satisfaction”, you may be able to take the driver they recommend out for a test drive and return it for store credit if it doesn’t please you. It may take a few trials but my bet is that they will be able to fit you into a match for your swing. Give it a go and let me know the results.

  2. I’ve been a Moe Norman fan for more years than I care to share at the moment. I even took some instruction about 30 years ago but failed to follow through and thus remain a hacker. I love the game and watch Moe videos every chance I get. This one, “An Interview with Moe Norman”, was one of the best I’ve ever seen. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Ken, great talking to you today and good luck at the senior q school! I’ll be there to see you earn your card! — Gary

  4. Have been following Natural Golf for years then went to log-on and nothing. On a hunch took your name out of one of my Natural Golf books and here we are again. Thank You Ken. I’m 79 years old and play the mens tees 3 or 4 times a week. Also read my Moe Norman instruction book time after time. Someday I’ll master it. But if I don’t it’s still FUN. Thanks again for the new site. Don
